Adventures in NYC & Austin:Armory+sxsw, days 1-3

Day 1 started off with the 6 am Jet Blue flight to NYC.  I had a nap on the deck of my friend Sarah's place and then off to Volta and Armory art fairs.  (Many thanks to Russell LaMontagne of LaMontagne Gallery for the comp tickets).   I got to see work by friends Kanishka Raja, Rachel Perry Welty and Bryan Graff.  Sarah and I had dinner and early nights rest.

Day 2 - I had to re-pack and caught an afternoon flight to Houston in time for a tour of the city and supper cooked by my lovely host, Valentina.   Then off to meet ex-Portlander and never met in real life new friend, Edie and we accidentally ended up at a Google party where two very drunk, but lovely Austin fellows befriended us.

Day 3 - Up and out early, picked up my badge for sxsw first thing in the morning and was in panels until 6 pm.  The highlights of sxsw interactive include: Is Our Photo-Madness Creating Mediocrity or Magic, Harnessing the Crowd - Internet Funding 101, Go Forth & Make Awesomeness: Core Values & Action.  Then  on my way to see the film that night, Pilgrim Song I there was a fireman doing yoga and we had a nice chat.
