Salton Sea State Recreation Area, California, 2014, Archival pigment print, 10x10"
On my way from LA to Tucson, I stopped by the Salton Sea. It's hard to describe the beauty of this place without also describing the horrifying smell, the mounds of trash, the abandoned everything including cars on the beach, dead fish everywhere - and by everywhere, I mean everywhere. It has fallen victim to faulty planning, irrigation and general disregard by the Local, State and Federal governments. But somehow, against all odds, wildlife still exists and if you hold your breath, watch your step and look in the right direction, it really is spectacular.
Act Fast Friday is a chance for you to purchase a photograph at a super super discount. I want to democratize art and the art buying process. Every Friday, I'll switch out the image. Sometimes they will be small prints, some times large. Sometimes one will be available, sometimes an entire edition. Act Fast Friday is the latest in a series of fundraisers to complete the project + prepare for the book and installation of Are you really my friend? at MASS MoCA. Follow me on social media of your choice or sign up for alerts here, so you don't miss a chance to Act Fast! Please spread the word, friends. I need you in order to keep this show on the road.
