I scheduled a shoot after work, which under normal circumstances would of been fine, but I was fighting with light because it is stilling raining in Maine. Karin is a family friend, our parents have been friends for a long time, so I can't be sure exactly when or how we met. Post-high school, pre-college (I think) she also helped me run a photo program for kids transitioning out of the criminal justice system in the late 90's, and has been on call web support for the Bakery. It's been great to watch her grow up, and see her gift for grass roots organizing and social media/web design land her jobs with MoveOn, Chellie Pingree, and now Alaska Wilderness League. She is definitely who you want to call when running a grass roots web campaign (or when running a grass roots photo campaign). I also got to meet her fiancé, Lori who works for Unum. We caught up, had lots of laughs (and delicious snacks and beer) as they entertained me with stories of their attack cat who was locked up in the guest room, and more #occupywallstreet talk.
