Adventures in Brunswick & Portland

Off to a morning shoot in Brunswick, the drive from Auburn along the Androscoggin and the back roads is one of my all time favorite.  Mark and Cassie are both artists, Mark runs the art department at Bowdoin College and they live right down the street in a beautiful old house jam packed with fantastic art and beautiful light.  They had coffee and breakfast ready for my arrival.   Cassie was just recovering from a migraine, but was kind enough to rally for my picture.  I'm not entirely sure when I first met Mark, but it was probably at an opening soon after I came back to Portland from Hampshire in the early 90's.  The first time we had dinner was around then after an artist talk at Bowdoin.

Then off to the studio to sort through the film from last week's shoots.  And then off to help friends, Susan and Jed with their project, Cooking Through Divorce.  They work with families going through divorce and teach them how to put their children's needs before their own.

Then Susan and I went off to first Friday in Portland, where I got to see friend, Greta Bank's incredible installation at Rose Contemporary.  I won't give away the details here, it is a see for yourself kind of  piece.   The streets were packed - it was so great to see that many people out for an art walk.
