And then there was Saturday. 5/7 - part 2, Jazz Fest

I'm pretty sure New Orleans is the only city I've ever been to where people sell Jello shots off their front porch for $1.  And thankfully, Emma and I didn't discover this until day 3. We were having a good time getting to know our new friends Dallas and Zack, when Emma's friends, Alexander and Richard and showed up from Boston to make Saturday even more fun.   Zack bought a tambourine which entertained us, and according to him was a "chick magnet".

On the agenda of must sees were Trombone Shorty and Lauren Hill.  Unfortunately, we couldn't even make it close to Shorty so we camped out under a big oak tree and had a little nap in the shade.  It was so hot that clouds and shade were a welcome respite.  We saw a few minutes of Lauren Hill but the crowd so was intense and the sound so bad, we went back to the Gospel tent for Aaron Neville.  We also got to see AsheSon & the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church Choir as well as more Mardi Gras Indian parades.  (see video below and give it a second to load).
