Adventures in DC, day 3

Started off the day on a road trip in Mr. Subaru to Baltimore to see Meadow, her husband Steve, and son Lucas.  I haven't seen her in many many years or met the family.  When I arrived (after quite an adventure being lost - which is slightly scary in Baltimore, I must admit) the smell of delicious coffee cake and high test tea greeted me.   I was instantaneously calmed.
Lucas wanted to photograph his trucks and motorcycles.  I thought it was a good idea, too.
Then Meadow suggested I go to the museum to see the photo exhibit.
It was a fantastic show, especially grateful for Cindy Sherman and William Eggleston, two photo heroes for sure.

And there were gorgeous mosaics throughout the hallways.
If I didn't have my camera equipment and was a little more ballsy, I would of done a uturn and had lunch at Tyrones.
Then back to DC, to photograph another high school friend, David who I haven't seen since graduation in 1990.   He lives in a super cool 60's building on the river.
Then back to Sam's house for happy hour on the 8th floor deck, my new home away from home. Keeping it in the family with Chef Ed's delicious popcorn.
And finally, Sam's portrait in the absolutely amazing afternoon light.
Nothing like a little backlight ...
Then off for tapas at Bar Pilar  around the corner.
Then to Marvin for a night cap on the roof and home for Sam's perfect banana bread with honey.
